WHO MAKES BETTER PICKS?
From the creator of HBO’s Ballers, Joey Krutell, Pros vs Pickers is a sports betting series built around one central question: who makes better picks? The Pros—the ones who played in the NFL—or the Pickers—the ones who built careers beating the sportsbooks.
At the center is Brandon Lang, the confident, unapologetic, and battle-tested picker. Across the table each week sits a different NFL legend bringing locker room insight, film knowledge, and personal experience from the field. Presiding over it all is Steve Budin, serving as moderator, referee, and credibility anchor.
THE PICKER: BRANDON LANG
One of the most recognizable and polarizing figures in the modern sports handicapping industry, Lang rose to national prominence in the 1990s as a high-profile sports betting consultant.
Lang’s story reached mainstream pop culture through the 2005 film Two for the Money, where he was portrayed by Matthew McConaughey alongside Al Pacino.
THE PROS
Each week, we feature a different NFL legend renowned for their on-field IQ. These Pros understand the game at a level few ever will. They’ve lived it: in the huddle, in the film room.
Their knowledge is earned through preparation, pressure, and performance.
THE MODERATOR: STEVE BUDIN
The son of famous Las Vegas bookmaker Bub Budin, Steve is known as the Godfather of offshore sports betting and for his analytical approach and operational experience.
His book Bets, Drugs, and Rock & Roll has been optioned by Sony Pictures.
